B&l Ray Ban Aviator Outdoorsman A-30 Blue Chromax Ace Picture(s) and Description:
Here's the ultimate super stunner of the vintage B&L Ray Ban clan. It's a pair of the rarest of the rare, the Blue Chromax. This is the stuff that dreams are made of. These are fantastically rare, but fantastically stunning as well. Dare I say even more stunning than a pair of Generals or Diamond Hards? Not just mirrored, not just antireflective coated, not just stunning blue, but also optical quality glass doped with the rare earth element Neodymium. It's only that last fact that can begin to explain the unique qualities of these vintage Ray Bans. Technically, these are known as the A-30 or ACE lens part of the Chromax family of vintage B&L Ray Ban lenses. Last made in the 1990's and never to be made again. Here's your big chance to add that crown jewel to your vintage Ray Ban collection.
Do you think the stock market is a good place to park your money? Hell no. What about a money market certificate? Not a freaking chance. What about platinum or gold. Well, maybe. But if you want a sure winner, stock up on treasure. Vintage Ray Ban treasure that is. The value is not only intrinsic, it is functional as well. Add the cosmetic appeal and you've got the holy trinity of value.
The 58mm lenses on these Chromax have the B&L logo etch and the white Ray Ban script logo followed by the Chromax lightning bolt as well. Keep in mind that new Chromax lenses haven't been made since the late 1990's when Ray Ban was sold to the European consortium Luxottica. And also keep in mind that Bausch and Lomb didn't sell the secrets to their best lens technologies when they sold the Ray Ban name. And most importantly, keep in mind that not even leviathan eyewear corporations like Luxottica have even attempted to make a lens equal to the Chromax. They can forget about it.
The condition of these vintage stunners is MINT. The frames display perfect symmetry and the metal parts are sparkling shiny and clean. The plastic parts of the frame are pristine as well with no hint of age deterioration. Hinge tension is adjusted just right. Both lenses are in perfect condition as well with absolutely no scratches, scuffs, chips, pits or nicks at all. The lenses are perfectly aligned. The top of the upper crossbar is stamped "B&L RAY-BAN U.S.A." and the underside "B&L RAY-BAN 58[]14." The center of each nose pad is stamped "B&L." The sunglasses do come with an original B&L Ray Ban Aviator hard case in new condition.
