Here's some rare treasure for your bidding pleasure. It's a pair of early B&L Ray Ban Shooters from the 1950's in large lens size 62mm. These are the superb B&L 1/10 12K GF frames that are impervious to corrosion or aging. Better yet, the glasses have cable temples protected with the same heavy coating of gold. These Shooters also have the 8mm ring construction which is in my opinion, the strongest Shooter frame ever made. The 8mm ring also gives unparalleled protection from flying powder embers or dust particles as well by bringing the inner corners of the lenses very close together.

Adding to the history of the glasses are the RB-3 lenses. The lenses are made from the original glass from which the Ray Ban company got its name. The lenses are a true emerald green color. Ask any of the old time opticians about Ray Ban Glass and they will tell you it is still the best sunglass lens ever made. It give superior eye protection when compared against such industry standard heavy weights like the G-15 neutral gray. That's pretty remarkable since the glass dates to 1932.

The condition of this vintage treasure is excellent to near mint. The frames are perfect mint and have no dings or scratches and the plastic parts are shiny, clean and new in appearance with no age deterioration. The lenses are excellent, but do have a few tiny pinhead dots (pits) on each lens. There are no scratches, nicks, chips or scuffs. Both lenses have neither the B&L logo etch nor the white Ray Ban script logo due to the early 50's manufacture. The top crossbar is stamped "RAY BAN B&L 1/10 12K GF." The glasses come with a more modern aviator hard case in good condition.
